They are fed up with sexist, dull advertising, meaningless promotion and billboards that try to shout consumption into their brains. But instead of living out the Day of Wrath as martially as its name suggests, the artists and activists of Dies Irae rather do provocatively clever adbusting: thus they expose the senselessness of modern puffery to their own emptiness and dip it into color.

The reinterpretation of the symbols – when did we forget to look into our souls again during our window shopping? With their installation, Dies Irae ask how the public space could become an advertising space – how do we treat the urban-public space as citizens and society? And isn’t there another way; with art instead of commerce, for example?
