| Eyes open, go for it: KITRA does not believe in explaining art. Nor does he believe that art should provide some kind of explanation. Why should it? His works are characterized by eclecticism as well as evolution, a constantly reinventing dance of ideas that can be experienced instinctively. And they open up a space that doesn’t need explanations anyway – instead, you feel how colours invite forms to dance and play. We have known it for a long time: Pure reason must never win.
BABLE A biblical story that still wanders through languages, words and sentences today. A narrative of hubris, but also of ambition; a question of identity that has become material and tower. This installation is Kitra’s modern interpretation of BABEL, which deals with the symbols, identities and intentions of the present and its imagery. What do we stand for – why, for how long, using which signs? |
